What’s On: Run To The Beat 2013
Run to the Beat at Greenwich Park on September 8
Running and music go hand-in-hand…Who doesn’t hit the tarmac or treadmill equipped with their favourite tracks? Even better is running for a good cause with HOT music pumping in the background!!! Yes Run to the Beat powered by Nike+ is back for 2013.
This year’s new half marathon route has been announced and will start and finish at London’s Greenwich Park. On September 8, 19,000 participants will run 13.1 miles whilst taking in some of East London's HOT landmarks including: Greenwich Park the home of Greenwich Meantime and the Meridian Line, the Royal Observatory, Woolwich Ferry Pier, the 02, the National Maritime Museum, the Thames Cable Car - the Emirates Air Line and the Royal Artillery Barracks.
And if that wasn’t enough, as always the route will also be filled with music stations hosting established and up-and-coming DJ’s and artists. Previous acts have included Reggie Yates, Annie Mac, DJ Fresh and Calvin Harris. With award-winning DJs positioned around the course, Run to the Beat powered by Nike+ offers a unique experience for both participants and their friends or family. The music line-up for this year’s event will be announced shortly.
Although general places are sold out, charity pledge places are still available through a host of charities. To enter via a charity click here.
Gold Charity Partner Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research had over 2,000 participants last year and raised more than £400,000 for the important work they do to beat blood cancer. (click here for details).
