What’s On: The Apple Cart Festival – June 3 2012

Wild Beasts at Field Day 06082011

The Apple Cart - London’s unique day festival for lovers of music, comedy, cabaret, interactive art and magic – is pleased to announce its initial line up for 2012. Returning to Victoria Park in East London on Sunday 3rd June with an imaginative bill that encompasses art, magic and cabaret alongside music and comedy, the first acts serve as a taster for what’s to come, with lots more idiosyncratic talent and innovative activities to be announced in the coming weeks.

TAC Whats On: The Apple Cart Festival June 3 2012After a hugely successful first year last summer, The Apple Cart (from the people behind Field Day and Underage festivals) is set cement its reputation as a colourful festival of ideas that caters to adults and children alike. Adopting something of a melting pot ethos, The Apple Cart presents London with an entirely fresh, multi-disciplinary take on the festival experience: no other event in the capital has Turner prize winners and world class magicians and burlesque stars sit happily alongside arena-filling comedians and established music legends all on the same bill, on the same day.

Due to the London 2012 Olympics, The Apple Cart will take place, over the Diamond Jubilee June Bank Holiday weekend at the earlier date of Sunday 3rd June (the day after Field Day). Additionally, there is now a joint Apple Cart 3rd June and Field Day 2nd June ticket available for £69.50 on Friday 9th March 2012 through http://theapplecartfestival.com/index.php/tickets. Field Day has cemented its reputation as a respected tastemaker festival, a platform for both new acts and more established acts to be heard by a musically discerning crowd. This year features a stellar line-up that including Franz Ferdinand, Beirut, The Vaccines, Afrocubism, Tortoise, Modeselektor and SBTRKT.
