Hummingbird launches another Sweet Treat!

THB Islington low res 2

Now if you know the Hotminute ladies you'll know we're partial to the odd cupcake or two espesh if its from our pals at The Hummingbird Bakery. So imagine how beyond excited we were to hear that Hummingbird have opened a brand spankingly new location in Angel, Islington! Get the scoop.....

On Friday 27th  January 2012,  The Hummingbird, Islington opened its doors to the public for the very first time at 11am. With free cupcakes on offer to the first 1000 visitors, it's no surprise that a queue of more than 500 people had formed by the time the bakery started serving. It was literally a a case of gone in 60 seconds with the first 500 free cupcakes claimed and scoffed in just 55 *hot* minutes.

Bakery staff kept the queue of happily smiling customers entertained by offering around trays of cupcakes. In the kitchen and onsite from the crack of dawn were the team of eight Hummingbird Bakers, freshly baking and frosting the masses of cupcakes ready for the bakery’s first visitors.

The Hummingbird Bakery’s Islington branch located at 405 St John Street, Islington, a stone’s throw from Angel Underground station, is its fifth to open in London and second to launch in less than 12 months. With the popularity of American baking continuing to grow, the bakery already has its eye on new London locations and international franchises are also  planned in the near future.

If you missed it you surely missed out but no matter the store is officially open for business so take that long lunch break and head down there for a lip smacking sweet treat!
